Center for Health Education & Wellness

The Center for Health Education and Wellness is an excellent starting point for student victims of sexual assault. Its mission is to engage in prevention and intervention efforts to increase awareness, educate students, and positively impact our university environment. The center coordinates campus-wide health and wellness education efforts, personal safety initiatives, sexual assault response in the Division of Student Life, and alcohol and substance abuse prevention and intervention.


Office of Equity & Diversity and Campus Title IX Coordinator

The Office of Equity and Diversity, through the Title IX function, coordinates and refers the response on all sexual assault allegations and complaints, and conducts investigations, as appropriate. The office fulfills an important compliance function by working with various legal mandates set out by state and federal law and university policies related to civil rights, equal employment, and affirmative action. OED also provides leadership and services that promote the institution’s mission of creating and sustaining a learning environment that is welcoming to all and hostile to none.

The UT Police Department provides professional police services while working with faculty, staff, and students to reduce criminal opportunity and community anxiety. The UTPD is committed to treating all people fairly while supporting an environment where diverse social, cultural, and academic values are allowed to develop.


Counseling Center

The Counseling Center is the university’s primary facility for personal counseling, psychotherapy, and psychological outreach and consultation services. The center promotes the psychological, educational, and social well-being of UT students and helps prepare them to be productive members of society. Staff members provide a variety of services for students, including walk-in sessions; crisis intervention; group, individual, and couples counseling; Feel Better Fast workshops; and consultation and referral services for faculty and staff.

The Office of the Dean of Students assists student victims of sexual assault with obtaining resources and understanding options. The staff works to engage and support students throughout their learning experience by providing co-curricular programs and services.


Office of Student Conduct and Community Standards

The Office of Student Conduct and Community Standards receives and reviews the Office of Equity and Diversity (OED) investigations of allegations of student sexual misconduct.

The Office of Student Conduct and Community Standards investigates allegations of student sexual misconduct to determine whether charges of standards of conduct violations are appropriate. The staff is concerned with the individual rights and responsibilities of students. Staff members serve as advisors to the student judicial system and, when necessary, initiate appropriate disciplinary proceedings.
